Global Christian School was founded in 1996 by the late Pastor Joseph H. Song. Under God's grace, another GCS was established in Taegu in 1999. During this time, Pastor Song suffered much physical pain but he strived to follow the God-given vision. Pastor Song was a graduate of the University of Maryland-College Park and of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. At his passing he was working on a Counseling Degree from Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana. Pastor Song's desire was to provide GCS students with a quality education and the opportunity to personally come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. Pastor Song is survived by his wife, Chancellor Soon Rahn Chung (current chancellor), his daughters, and his son. Since Pastor Song's passing, several principals have come to serve at GCS. Currently, Pastor Kristen Suh is serving as GCS principal. Pastor Kristen received her B.A. Degree from University of North Carolina and Master of Divinity with Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. GCS is an international school which is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education, KOREA.
