Step 1: Submit Application Form Application Fee

An applicant's very first task is to complete an application form and submit it along with a non-refundable application fee of $500 US (included test fee). Payments can be made with cash(payable to GCS), US dollar wire transfer - please refer to the Tuition & Fees section in our website under Admission for more information. Applicants cannot be entered into our database without the above two items so it is absolutely imperative that the application form and the application fee be submitted without delay.

Step 2: Submit Supporting Documents

Once our office receives the application form and the application fee, we will send a confirmation letter of receipt that will also outline yet to be submitted documents. The remaining supporting documents can be submitted in piecemeal as they become available but we recommend that the application process be completed as soon as possible as applications are screened and considered for admission in chronological order of file completion dates. Moreover, an applicant is not placed on the waitlist until all documents and the application fee have been received. Below is a list of required application documents and fee:

1. GCS Application Form
2. Admission Fee (payable in cash)
3. Maintain Foreign Passport Form
4. Confidential Teacher Recommendation Form (completed by a most recent teacher and sent directly to our office by the writer via fax or postal mail)
5. Medical Certificate form
6. Photocopy of Passport Title Page for Applicant, Father, and Mother
7. Recent Standardized Test Scores(e.g. ITBS, Stanford, Terre Nova, CTP, SAT, PSAT, GCSE).

Step 3: Take Diagnostic Test

When students enter our school they take a diagnostic test, and are evaluated according to those results and their previous school's record. They are placed by their English level and are allowed to proceed through the grades at their own pace. They advance by demonstrating mastery of the material.

Once our office has received ALL documents and fees, we can begin processing and screening an applicant's file. As a part of this process, applicants are required to take an achievement test in English and Mathematics before an admissions decision can be made.

1. Office appoints the date for diagnostic testing.

2. Before the diagnostic test, admission fee, which includes diagnostic testing fee is to be paid.(Admission fee in NOT refundable.)

3. Parents, student, and principal discuss results and probable academic projection.

Step 4: Wait for Acceptance

Once all application forms, fees, and supporting documents have been submitted, diagnostic test and reviewed, an admissions decision will be made after a careful assessment of each applicant's ability to achieve success in an atmosphere of high expectations, self-discipline and responsibility. During the assessment/screening process, GCS will evaluate each applicant's English language proficiency, demonstrated academic achievement, and behavior conduct history.

For the new academic year commencing in August, new students are not offered placement until returning students have completed their pre-registration for the next school year. Typically, this does not happen until late April. Students who are not offered placement at this time are waitlisted until space becomes available. When there is an opening, notification is made in writing directly to the parents or to the local business contact.
When space is available and the school is prepared to offer enrollment to an applicant.

Step 5: Submit Final Documents

After formal acceptance, all tuition and other fees must be paid by the designated due date in order to reserve a seat. Failing to meet the deadline will result in forfeiting a student's enrollment.

All medical requirements and vaccination records MUST be submitted prior to first day of school. Students CANNOT begin school without the medical forms.

A new student entering high school must provide records for all previous high school coursework. Credit toward graduation will not be awarded without an official academic transcript submitted directly to the GCS High School Registrar.

New middle and high school students are required to meet with their academic counselor for course selections prior to the first day of school. This can only be done in person.

Both parents and applicant are required to read the STUDENT HANDBOOK throughly. The acknowledgment slip at the end of the handbook should be signed and returned to GCS.
