Global Christian School was founded in 1996 in Seoul by the late Pastor Joseph H. Song. Under God's grace, another GCS was established in Taegu in 1999. During this time, Pastor Song suffered much physical pain but he strived to follow the God-given vision. Pastor Song was a graduate of the University of Maryland-College Park and of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. At his passing he was working on an Ed.D. program in Christian Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana. Pastor Song's desire was to provide GCS students with a quality education and the opportunity to personally come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. Pastor Song is survived by his wife, Chancellor Soonrahn Song (current chancellor), his daughters, Esther and Elaine, and his son, Daniel.
